Join the 9th edition of the Vertical Movie Festival, the international festival dedicated to cinema in vertical format (9:16).

The festival welcomes works from all over the world and promotes new forms of audiovisual storytelling, enhancing creativity, innovation, and visual experimentation.

Submissions are made through FilmFreeway.

SECTIONS

Works can be submitted in the following sections:

•VERTICAL TALENT – POWERED BY CANON: è una sezione speciale fuori concorso dedicata allo sviluppo di cortometraggi in formato verticale (9:16). Rivolta ad autori residenti in Italia, seleziona 25 progetti per una masterclass online sul linguaggio del video verticale e sull’utilizzo professionale della Canon Cinema EOS C50, in collaborazione con Canon. 5 projects will move into the production phase, with professional equipment provided free of charge.

📌 Sezione fuori concorso, senza premi.

•VERTICAL GREEN: opere dedicate ai temi dell’ambiente, della sostenibilità e delle energie rinnovabili.

•VERTICAL VOICES: storie dedicate all’inclusione, ai diritti civili e alla valorizzazione delle diversità

•VERTICAL AI: opere realizzate con l’ausilio dell’intelligenza artificiale.

•VERTICAL OPEN: Open Theme Section

REQUIREMENTS

To participate, the works must meet the following requirements:

maximum duration: 10 minutes (end credits excluded)

• format: vertical, 9:16 aspect ratio or equivalent

• accepted resolutions: 1080×1920, 2160×3840, or higher

• video formats: MP4 or MOV

• codec: H.264 / H.265

Works can be created using any recording device, including digital cameras, photo cameras, smartphones, and other recording systems.
